About the Artist
Julia Goodwin's art is all about bringing a bit of her world into yours.
"As I paint and play, I find myself weaving together a mixture of colours, people, and nature—somehow blending the serious with the delightful. I use canvas, found objects, and a mix of old and new brushes and paints to shape my thoughts. Each brushstroke is like a heartbeat, infusing the canvas with humour and lightness, tinged with moments of love, loss, joy, and hope. There’s something refreshing about letting the paint flow until it captures the perfect balance, mystery, and spirit."
Her inspiration comes from the natural surroundings of the Mornington Peninsula and the more extensive Australian landscape—think bushland, bay views, local animals, and intriguing objects encountered in everyday life. Over time, Julia's fine-tuned her own style, ensuring each of her artwork's carries a bit of her own essence.
"I hope my work speaks to you, maybe even sings or dances a little, as you find your own connection to the stories I tell through my art."
